Fall has arrived at last, and along with changing leaves and cooling weather, the season is also set to bring some changes to our real estate market, as well.
Some things, however, have stayed consistent since summer, like the fact that we’re still in a seller’s market. But what does this mean?
In short, it means that the amount of available inventory is currently lower than the level of buyer demand. Inventory is actually down 21% since this time last year, which gives anyone who does choose to sell a strong competitive edge.
Fall is sure to hold plenty of opportunities for buyers and sellers alike.
Right now, homes that are priced correctly and in good condition are selling quickly. In fact, San Francisco homes today are spending an average of just 14 days on the market.
There is some good news for buyers, too, though. Interest rates are at historic lows right now, making now a fantastic time to start searching for your next home. Not only do low rates boost purchasing power, but they also give buyers the chance to enjoy lower monthly payments over the life of their loan.
All in all, fall is sure to hold plenty of opportunities for buyers and sellers alike.
